Aperire Wellness is the evolution of a dream that began as Arc Healing — a vision to offer affordable holistic and complementary treatments, classes, and workshops so that everyone can experience them. My intention has always been simple: to make the joy, connection, and wellbeing I have found through these practices accessible to all.
The word Aperire comes from Latin, meaning “to open.”
It speaks to the heart of my work — opening the body, the mind, and the spirit. Opening to healing, to possibility, to deeper awareness, and ultimately, to yourself.
This name also carries a deeply personal layer of meaning.
In 2025, I lost my beautiful cousin Avril. Her passing marked a profound moment in my life and in the evolution of this work. Avril — a name that means April — символises spring, a time of renewal, rebirth, and opening. In honour of her, and all that she represents, Aperire became not just a name, but a living tribute — a reminder that even through loss, there is always an invitation to open again.
In 2009, I launched Arc Healing, and within two years, I was hosting my first residential retreat. Business was thriving, and I had stepped fully into a new and exciting chapter of my life. Then, in 2011, everything changed when I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
This life-altering moment stopped me in my tracks. It had the potential to end my dream — but instead, it strengthened it.
Through my work, I already had access to the tools that would support me through this challenge. With a commitment to holistic living, a positive mindset, and a daily practice of gratitude, I navigated that time and came through it stronger. That experience reshaped my purpose. It deepened my understanding of healing and ignited an even stronger desire to share this work with others.
Following my full recovery, and after facilitating several successful retreats, I opened the doors to my Holistic Training & Wellness Centre in 2013.
Shortly after, I experienced another profound loss when my father passed suddenly from a heart attack at just 63. Once again, the tools and practices I had gathered supported me deeply as I navigated the journey of grief.
Through this, my understanding of healing evolved. I came to realise that we don’t simply “get over” loss — rather, our hearts break open, expanding to hold both the pain and the love, eventually allowing more light to enter.
From this place of deepened awareness, I continued to grow my work, expanding my offerings to include a wide range of holistic & nature therapies, yoga & mindfulness practices.
Now, at almost 50, I find myself in a new and deeply grounded phase of life. What began over 25 years ago as study, curiosity, and exploration has become something far richer — embodied, lived wisdom. This is not something that can be taught from books alone, it is earned through experience, through challenge, through healing, and through time.
Aperire Wellness is the integration of all of it — the learning, the living, the loss, and the love.
It is a space for opening.
For healing.
For transformation.
And for coming home to yourself.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my work has been the opportunity to travel the world, holding space for people on retreat in places such as France, Turkey, Portugal, and India. Each location has brought its own unique energy, deepening both my personal journey and the experiences I offer to others.
In 2018, I ran my first retreat in Northern India, blending immersive travel with deep healing and connection. Over the years, this path has continued to evolve in meaningful and unexpected ways. Returning each year to celebrate “Holi” festival has become a beautiful form of medicine for both me and the guests that choose to take the journey with me!
In the winter of 2019/20, I took time out with my family to explore potential retreat venues in Mexico, Japan, Vietnam, and Cambodia. While my love for travel continues to grow, I can honestly say that nothing makes my heart sing more than being home on retreat here in beautiful Ireland ,connecting guests to their inner wisdom, their natural rhythms, and our rich, ancient traditions. It truly is a gift.
I am deeply honoured to serve as Retreat Director for the Irish charity Gerri’s Place, where I help support the creation and holding of restorative retreat experiences for individuals who are in need of rest, healing, and reconnection. This work is profoundly heart-led and rooted in compassion, offering space for people to pause, feel supported, and gently return to themselves in a safe and nurturing environment.
Now, almost two decades on from when I first began Arc Healing, I feel ready to gently close that chapter/Book and step fully into this new journey as Aperire Wellness. It is both an ending and a beginning , a natural evolution of everything I have learned, lived, and embodied along the way.
